Our processes allow roasting at low temperatures which are gentle to the bean:

without mechanical treatment by means of beating tools,

the whole bean receives uniform heat without agitating and beating tools being involved,

the temperature level is efficiently adapted to the bean development by means of profile roasting,

this is achieved without the insulating effect of the drum insulation,

the instant cooling in a specially developed cooling process is unique.

This special cooling process ensures "freezing/fixing" of the sensitive flavours in the beans. Thus uncontrolled post-roasting of the beans which takes place in other systems is avoided.

Energy-saving roasting

The energy consumption is one of the lowest on the market. This has always been one of the primary aims of our development work. The following measures have been implemented and optimised in our roasters to achieve this aim:

optimum heat transmission and air ducting

low roasting temperature

no water quenching in the roaster required

very low percentage of exhaust air compared to other systems

Additionally, we can recover energy by means of pre-heating the coffee batch and the combustion air.

More roasting profiles

Profile roasting is a generally known, common method to adapt the roasting conditions to the bean development in the course of the roasting process.

This is a standard feature of all our roasting machines. Today, the operator can choose between copy roasting, profile roasting and step roasting. The low specific heat capacity of the system is an important factor. It enables the control parameters to act on the bean.

By means of the Neuhaus Neotec profile control, the bean temperature and all the other parameters of the recipe are monitored until the end of the roasting process.

Neuhaus Neotec have developed the so-called Rotational Flexible Batch process. Even today, this is a unique process. It means uniform roasting without conventional mixing and beating tools. The air quantities and the temperature level can be modified within a wide range.

RFB

RFB Batch Roaster - Rotational Flexible Batch

Our innovative RFB batch roaster is the machine with the broadest range of roasting profiles, possibilities and qualities on the market. The RFB provides every possibility to get the best out of the bean and to preserve it. In the capacity range from 500 kg/h to 5,000 kg/h (with pre-heating), custom solutions are available for

  • main stream and fast roasting
  • main stream and slow roasting
  • slow and extremely dark roasting
  • pre-heating by means of fresh or process air
  • recirculation or open system
  • thermal or catalytic exhaust air cleaning
  • profile, step or copy roasting

Additionally, there are the concept-related advantages: no moving parts in the roaster, unique bean temperature measurement directly in the roasting chamber, no water in the roasting chamber required, unique safety concept, no post-roasting by rapid cooling.

The RFB thus offers an unrivalled production flexibility due to the rapid implementation of the roasting parameters and the simple recipe control.

 

RG - Roaster Gourmet

Developed from the successful RFB series, the RG has been designed for roasting of specialities in smaller capacity ranges of up to 1,500 kg/h.

Especially in the slow and espresso roasting, it offers within its range of capacities maximum flexibility in the selection of parameters (roasting time, roasting temperature). Even small batches can be roasted precisely. A powerful cooling system ensures the preservation of the aroma and prevents uncontrolled post-roasting. The roasting and cooling process can be monitored continuously.

RFB Junior

Roaster RFB Junior

The small-capacity roaster RFB Junior is the adequate roaster for small-scale productions of specialities and for laboratory and pilot-plant applications as well as for use in research and development.

This automatic machine which covers the entire range of roasting is also easy to install, since it is electrically heated.

The product is roasted with fresh air via an integrated heat exchanger, without moving parts. The characteristic RFB shape of the chambers ensures an all around uniform, gentle roasting and mixing of the product.

The parameters adjusted by the roasting master can be stored as a recipe in an unlimited number and recalled at any time.

RFB-S

Batch roaster RFB-S - now with frequency converter for short and long roasting times

Our roaster for larger sample quantities. Offers a unique range of possibilities.

The RFB-S is a small roaster for various coffee products. It can be used as a shop roaster or for quality control. The core of the small roaster is the proven RFB roasting chamber.

Drum Roasters

CTR-3000 / CTR -1500

The drum roasters of Neuhaus Neotec provide tailored solutions for customers who have specialised in longer roasting times and traditional roasts.

Based on decades of experience in the construction of roasters, Neuhaus Neotec offers a highly developed and user-friendly machine with sophisticated security technology and advanced energy concept.

The CTR-3000 is designed for a capacity of up to 3 t/h. It has a modern control system, can also be supplied with profile roasting, and offers innovative technical solutions which are unique on the market. Coffee roasters who prefer a drum roaster can continue to purchase complete lines from Neuhaus Neotec, which makes the planning, assembly and commissioning considerably easier and safer.

  • Batch size: 230 - 330 kg and/or 450 - 660 kg
  • Exact temperature measurement and display
  • Uniform and precisely reproducible roasting
  • Efficient heat transfer due to uniform and intensive flow of roasting air through the batch.

The CTR-3000 and CTR-1500 are very easy to operate. The programmable logic controller (PLC) together with a control panel allows automatic operation. The touch panel with control buttons is installed directly on the roaster.
